A Brief History
Coastside Lutheran worship services began some 30 years ago being held in private homes.
Quickly the congregation grew to a point where larger facilities needed to be found.
Sunday services were then held at the "Odd Fellows" Hall in downtown Half Moon Bay.
In 1973, the congregation built its current sanctuary and outbuildings on 3½ acres of
land just north of the intersection of Main Street and Highway 1.

Mission Statement:
Coastside Lutheran Church celebrates the grace of God by worshiping together, serving the community and providing a spiritual harbor where all are welcome to feel and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Guiding Values:
Spiritual Growth: We value understanding who God is in order for us to live out God’s love in fullness of faith everyday. We value the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Community: We believe God calls us to participate in our communities through prayer, worship and works to fulfill the word of God.
Children and Youth: We believe that children and youth are important, valuable, and integral to our congregational life. We value providing a place and opportunity for growth in a Christian environment.
Worship: We believe worship services should reflect substance, relevance, quality and encouragement. Upon leaving the worship service, we feel satisfied spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
